Heartwarming TV to keep you smiling during #coronavirus

Many of us will find ourselves at home now for extended periods while we each play our part in delaying and hopefully containing the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. Here’s a heartwarming Netflix recommendation to keep you smiling through these troubling times.

Virgin River is an American romance/drama television series, based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr. The first season premiered on Netflix in December 2019 and was quickly renewed for a 10-episode second season, on the way soon.

Virgin River follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote California town of Virgin River, thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected. She must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.

We all enjoyed this series in my house, even my Husband who is notoriously hard to please when it comes to romances/drama TV, looked forward to seeing how this series would play out. My parents enjoyed it too. The beautiful mountain and forest scenery and ever-changing life-in-a-small-town makes great, easy watching. You may need to reach for a tissue here and there but ultimately it’s sweet, heartwarming viewing.

Find it on Netflix here.
