Hello hello everyone! How are you all??
Thank you all so much for your support for my last post. So many of you sent me beautiful, uplifting messages of positivity and I am very, very grateful – they really helped me that first day back in chemo and since. If you took the time to write to me, thank you so, so much – I want you to know your message helped me so very, very much at a time when I really needed help.
So how am I?
I am doing great!
I’ve had one cycle of chemo so far (I am doing 3 x three-week cycles and then I’ll have a scan) and I’m feeling really good so far. Chemotherapy side effects have been minimal and the pain I had been having at night prior to chemo has MUCH improved, which we all think is a very, very positive sign!
I have also been ramping up my integrated approach to my treatment plan, adding in as much as I can to support my body from every angle, and this has really helped me to feel in control and extremely positive. I am feeling better and better, stronger and stronger, day by day, and I am very happy about that.
I have also been enjoying so many new things these past few weeks – recipes, online content, audiobooks, healthy products, music and meditations, so I’ve got a LOT to share with you!
As I was looking for a lovely, bright image for this post, I came across this sunflower. A few years ago my Husband and I holidayed in the south of France and were captivated by the sunflower fields we found there. We noticed that these fields of thousands of beautiful yellow sunflower ‘faces’ would literally follow the sun across the summer sky over the course of the day and we really marveled at this phenomenon. If you’ve ever seen a massive sunflower field – they almost seem to sing with joy. My Husband and I can’t pass a sunflower now without remembering the singing fields of sunny France that year. This image reminded me of the importance of following the sun, or rather, the happiness in life. It’s there in every day, we just need to follow it with our faces, as sunflowers do 😉
Tilt your chin up, find that sunshine, and follow it 🙂
Sooo, as I say to my little boy whenever we’re about to do something – LET’S DO THIS THING!
