New Contributor: Fit with Sylvia will be joining Happy Magazine

I am delighted to announce we will have an Exercise and Fitness Contributor joining the Happy Magazine writing team from next week.

Her name is Sylvia and she will be contributing posts on exercise and wellness every fortnight on

Sylvia is a Personal Trainer, Fitness & Dance Instructor and Blogger.

Sylvia runs her own fitness and nutrition coaching service in Dublin called Fit with Sylvia and occasionally holds events where she promotes a healthy lifestyle, especially for busy professionals.

Sylvia has had her own personal struggles with illness – an eating disorder from her early career as an international fashion model – and knows the importance of maintaining a healthy body as well as a healthy mind.

Exercise and cancer

We know that during a cancer journey, exercise and fitness may be the furthest thing on your mind or the least likely thing you feel like doing. However, the latest research shows that regular exercise during and after cancer treatment can help improve both surgery recovery times and long-term outcomes after treatment.

Here at Happy Magazine, exercise during a cancer journey is very important to us and something we will be promoting more here on our website (with Sylvia’s help!) over the coming months and also in our print edition.

Don’t worry, there will be no hardcore fitness plans coming your way – only positive encouragement to move more – whatever way that works for you.
