*NOW CLOSED* Nuud, the carefree deodorant – Review + Giveaway

Beauty Contributor Elfreda McGowan joins us today to tell us all about a unique new deodorant product from The Netherlands called Nuud.

*** Nuud sent us one of their Starter Packs for Elfreda to try out and also a second one to give away here on Happy Magazine, so if you’re interested in trying this out for yourself, leave us a comment below to be in with a chance of winning our second Starter Pack. ***

Lately, I’ve been trying to find a decent deodorant that is both effective and chemical-free. I’ve tried a few now, and although they’ve been chemical-free, I’ve not been hooked on one yet. Then I was sent a tube of Nuud, a new type of deodorant made in The Netherlands.

On first sight, I saw a little card package with a small tube inside. The packaging is 100% biodegradable which is already a good thing. The ingredients are free of aluminum salts and parabens, artificial fragrances, alcohol etc which is also a win. But with so many ingredients not in Nuud, I was curious as to what was actually in it. This page on their website is very clear about exactly what goes in to every little tube.

There are many other wonderful reasons to use Nuud, such as, it’s not tested on animals, is 100% vegan, no clogging, healthy sweating, no stains, 100% unscented, sustainable production & CO2 neutral distribution, the list goes on.

But what about sweating? I hear you say, how can such a tiny tube do the trick? And, it seems quite pricey for such a thing, at €12.95 for a mere 15ml on www.nuudcare.com. Well, it’s actually a little tube of wonderful! It’s made with something called micro silver, actually, ecocert micro silver. With a pea-sized squeeze enough to do each armpit, the micro silver ingredient prevents odour by neutralising the bacteria normally present in sweat, giving you whiff-free armpits for 3 to 7 days with only one application. Everyone is different, so they recommend playing around with the timings when you first start using it. I find I’m odour-free once I use it every three to four days, but some lucky folks get seven days, which is really quite cool! The folks at Nuud say that some people feel a little smelly at first even when using it, as your body is detoxing, but this should settle down quite quickly, but I’m happy to report that this didn’t happen to me at all.

You can work, rest and play, as you usually do, shower or bath as you choose, and this doesn’t interfere with the effectiveness of Nuud at all, you still only need to apply it once every few days or longer depending on your own body and because the product is highly concentrated, you get quite a lot of bang for your buck with the standard-sized 20ml tubes lasting around ten weeks. I say standard size, as my 15ml was a trial size, which lasts around six weeks; there is a ‘Smarter Pack’ of 2 x 20ml available on the website for €24.95 which is better value again.

To be honest, I can’t think of a negative thing to say about the product, it does exactly what it says on the tin, or tube in this case, and I for one, think it’s amazing. It’s quick and easy to use, and most importantly, it works! It’s a fab size to throw in your handbag or for travelling. Its planet and body friendly and cruelty-free to animals. I don’t think I could ask for any more. If this all sounds good to you, you can check them out on www.nuudcare.com for more or enter the giveaway below to win your own Starter Pack from Happy Magazine.

I would love to try Nuud, as with the chemotherapy treatment I am finding any kind of fragrance causes nausea and I worry a lot about the chemicals in deodorants and the effects they have on my ‘under-arm environment’.

I would love to give this product a go!
Have been toying with the idea of changing to chemical free deodorants but afraid they wont be as effective as my usual hardcore brand!
    Please pick me! 😊

It does sound too good to be true so I really would like to test it for myself. I have tried a variety of natural ones over the years but I didn’t find they worked, though I have had that result with some of the ordinary brands of deodorant too. Please putry my name forward.

I’d love to try this. I’ve tried so many at this stage to avoid chemicals but haven’t found anything that works. I’m using two at the moment, one “normal” full of chemicals one for my”good” side and another chemical free one for my”bad” side. Daft solution but at least I only have one smelly armpit!
