A journey around Earth in real time

Here is something a little different for today’s post on Happy Magazine.

My husband was watching this on his laptop the other night and it caught my interest. Then the two of us were sitting side by side, in silence, watching the amazing beauty of this Earth we live on.

This video is described as “a real time reconstruction of time lapse photography taken on board the International Space Station by NASA’s Earth Science & Remote Sensing Unit.”

It’s almost a meditation of sorts.

It made us wonder at the vastness of our beautiful home. It made me feel grateful for all that I can call my own, too.

If you don’t want to watch the whole video (it is an hour and a half, after all), make sure you skip to the last five minutes to see the Northern Lights.
