A few weeks ago we shared details here on Happy Magazine about Untire, an app for beating cancer fatigue. The Tired of Cancer team have been in touch again, this time to share that they are hosting a free online webinar next week on the subject of cancer-related fatigue. Here are the details.
Tired of Cancer presents Cancer-Related Fatigue Webinar for World Cancer Day
Raising awareness and understanding of cancer’s most common side-effect
Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF) is the most common side effect of cancer and its treatment. Almost 40% of all cancer patients and survivors around the world suffer from severe and prolonged fatigue. Unfortunately, there is a lack of awareness about CRF amongst patients, survivors, and healthcare providers.
CRF is different from what is normally considered fatigue. It is often debilitating and paralysing to those that suffer from it. This lack of energy often impacts daily living, reduces quality of life with debilitating social and economic consequences.
To raise awareness for World Cancer Day, the Tired of Cancer team will be hosting a live webinar on the topic of cancer fatigue with Tired of Cancer’s co-founder Dr. Bram Kuiper. He has spent the past thirty years in the field of psycho-oncology as an oncology psychologist. Dr. Kuiper is part of the development team that created the Untire app to specifically address cancer-related fatigue.
“CRF is a very serious side-effect and it’s important that cancer patients and their caregivers recognise what it is and how they can better manage it to improve energy levels and quality of life.” Dr. Kuiper
On Monday, 4 February 2019 at 3:00 PM GMT (4:00 PM CET; 10:00 AM Eastern; 9:00 AM Central; 7:00 AM Pacific), Dr. Kuiper and a panel of guests will have a virtual 45-minute conversation about understanding Cancer-Related Fatigue.

- What is Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF)?
