I Sprained My Mental Health Podcast

It seems awareness about mental health has reached a peak at the moment in Ireland. It seems to be everywhere. And, personally, I think this can only be a good thing. It’s always good to talk, and especially good to really, really talk – by this I mean, have real, authentic conversations with the people in our lives, where we are truly ourselves, can say what’s on or in our minds and hearts without fear of judgement and find solace, joy or comfort in another’s words or in just simply listening.

Many years ago now I went to journalism college with a guy who is now making very positive waves in both the sport and mental health arena in Ireland. You can find him on Instagram at the username @performancedoc.

I had a listen to the latest episode in his podcast series titled I Sprained My Mental Health yesterday, and I have to say, I thought it was refreshing content that I think all the men that I know, would enjoy.

I’m not sure how many men are out there reading the daily posts on Happy Magazine – as it’s usually women that reach out to me or that leave comments on the site. So, if you’re a man reading this, and you like to listen to a podcast here and there, maybe while you’re in the car or just chilling out at home, I recommend you take a listen to this series – I think you’ll enjoy it for sure.

In the latest episode that I listened to, Dave talked about mental health, parenthood, films, creativity, music and more. It was friendly and authentic banter that I think is guaranteed to give your spirit a lift.

This one’s for all the men out there, or all the men in your life. Not related to cancer at all – just life, challenges, anxiety, joy and everything else.
