As some of you may already know, I am excited (and a little nervous) to announce that it is my intention to publish a printed edition of Happy Magazine in December of this year. Writing it down seems to be as close as I can get right now to making it official, so here it is!
When I first came up with the idea to create Happy Magazine, my vision for it was to be an inspiring and positive cancer support magazine that was available for free at every cancer treatment centre in Ireland. I had no idea how to make that happen but I quickly felt that I was the person to do it.
This vision has been my driving force ever since.
I started Happy Magazine online almost one year ago now (the 21st of July will be our first birthday!), and have published something helpful or positive for a cancer journey every single day since then. And it has been incredible. This website has become a passion project that has continually inspired me and helped me enormously through my own treatment, it has also spurred me on to make small but meaningful positive changes in my life.
And so many of you have been in touch too, to say that you are also enjoying the magazine. These emails and messages mean so much to me. They affirm my belief that Happy Magazine is a much needed cancer support resource and they keep me going. Over the last year, on days when I was feeling alone or sad, a special email or social media message would find its way to me, and it always seemed to be the universe working for me, to tell me to keep with this.
I’ve officially given up the job I had before I was diagnosed with cancer. Happy Magazine is now my full-time focus and something I do hope to turn into an advertising business that can help support my family.
So now I think it’s time to take Happy Magazine to the next step – and launch the website into the print magazine I dreamed of.
Over the coming days you will see me launch the advertising plan for the first issue of Happy Magazine.
You will also see our first ever Happy Magazine Podcast launching – something I am also very excited about.
I hope you will continue to support Happy Magazine and indeed share it with anyone who you think may benefit from reading it. Without you, there would be no Happy Magazine. This post is written with my sincere thanks to you all for being here.
Wow, well done. I think it is a fantastic idea and it will help so many people that feel alone and fearful with their diagnoses and recovery. You are a very inspiring lady. I wish you much success and good health going forward.
